So as your resident expert in all things Malibu I have decided to spend some time reviewing some of the local seafood restaurants. I stumbled upon quite a few reviews that made my mouth water and tummy growl with hunger so I thought I would share them with you. If you are in the Malibu area you should definitely check out my favorite seafood place.
Yours truly,
Brian

As we stood in the sun on a hot confused fall/summer day I pondered... What in the world should I get?!! I assumed this would be a simple fish and chip shack with a few other options, but it is not so!
They have grilled salmon, sea bass, halibut, yellow tail, sword fish, sole, tilapia, and some other sea creatures. All with two sides ranging from salads to rice pilaf.
Clam chowder in various sizes with oyster crackers or in a sourdough bowl.
Ahi-tuna burger and squid filet burger with fries.
Fried fish, scallops, oysters, squid, and shrimp with fries.
Ceviche, side salads, and fresh mussles, oysters, lobsters and other crustateans.
I thought and fought over what I should order. In the end I decided on a sea food combo (1 pc fish, 4 scallop, 4 oysters, 3 shrimp and fries).
My boyfriend had a squid and fries, yummy little fried rings with tarter and cocktail sauce. Oh, and ceviche with chips. I felt like there wasn't much flavor, but he liked them after bathing it in Tapatio.
Their special of the day was grilled yellow tail in a cilantro sauce. I thought it was good, but I enjoyed my juicy fried
oysters and scallops more.
As for seating it is all out doors. There are benches to the right of the shack and to the left. It may look over-crowded and you may worry about seating, but never fear! There is additional seating on the left if you walk up the driveway and on the left there is a short flight of stairs. Plus it has a great view and it is shaded.
They also sell ice cream sandwiches and fresh fish. The ice cream sandwiches are pre-made and may not be anything to brag about, and the prices are high for a small thing (4.50) but the ice cream is good and you can order afterwards at the pick up window. Their fresh fish looks A-MAZE-ING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to take the Chilean sea bass and fry it up and eat it for days. Ugh. I'm salivating.
I can't believe I've been in LA my whole life and I've just found this spot.

If you're a lover of fish and chips, you won't be disappointed. You can order 1, 2 or 3 pieces of fish. The breading was fried to a golden brown perfection and crunchy on the outside. Each piece of
cod was large and the fish was soft, flaky and delicate. Usually frying a fish can mask the piece of fish, but you could tell that the cod was very fresh. The fries were also good despite not being my favorite skinny fries. I thought the prices were very reasonable. The 1 piece and fries was only $5.75 while the 3 pieces was $11.50.
Fried oysters- good sized, juicy and plump. Looked more like jalepeno poppers. As I bit into it, briny juices flowed out off the poppers to my delight. They definitely had a strong taste of ocean (which I love) but it's not for everyone
Ahi Tuna Burger- patty was made with ground tuna and spice (it's not served as a seared tuna filet). The patty was well seasoned and juicy. The tomato slices and lettuce were fresh and not sweated, although there was a touch too much mayo. This is a delicious alternative to a fried seafood dish.
The location is pretty awesome with the gorgeous views of the ocean and is the perfect weekend afternoon stop on your drive along the coast. The seafood was fresh and reasonably priced. Best part is the BYOB! so pick up some brewskies from the Ralphs near by and grab a seat on their patio.
Tune in tomorrow when I review some other Seafood places in Malibu.
